Indeed, traveling with a weapon can be risky. Most of the time, you are required to conceal the weapon in a holster. If you don’t have a permit, you can get in trouble for carrying a concealed weapon. Yet, in different states, these laws may be different. Here are some concealed-carry weapons laws that you need to know.
- You must have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Most states require you to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. If you are pulled over or stopped by a police officer, you want to have this permit with you. If you don’t, you could actually be in a lot of trouble. Carrying a concealed weapon without a permit is a felony offense.
- You are not allowed to take your weapon out in front of people. When you do have a concealed weapon, you want to keep it in your holster or purse at all times. The only time that you are legally allowed to take out the weapon is when your life is in danger. However, most states require that you have a firm believe that your life is in danger, or else you could be arrested for causing serious harm of death if you discharge your weapon at a person.
- You must have a safe container to keep the weapon. When it comes down to it, a safe container usually means that you have to keep your weapon in some kind of holster or purse that can be buttoned or closed. If you are carrying a weapon in your car, you want to be sure that it is not simply rolling around on the floor or in the glove compartment. You could be breaking the law if your gun is not properly concealed.

The truth of the matter is that a knife is a weapon, so according to the laws, you must keep it concealed. Of course, some states have different laws regarding the size of the knife, so you may want to check your local laws.

Other states, however, don’t. In the end, you want to simply ask, because you don’t want to be on the wrong side of the law when it comes to concealed-carry laws.
