Where do ideas come from? The author of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams, swore it was when he was in the bath, so he took loads. The Beatles song “8 days a week” came from a chance comment that Paul McCartney heard someone say. Others have cited the importance of play as children. The games and adventures that they had in the playgrounds and fields inspired them to be a great writer of works of fiction.
