Most people will associate Alastair Campbell as the man who was an integral part of the election of Tony Blair, and his advisor and friend throughout the years of his leadership. He also helped to advise both Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband when they were leader of the Labour Party.
However, Alastair Campbell has done a lot more since becoming famous for his advice to various Labour leaders. Mental health is something that he speaks openly about and works to bring more awareness and support to. A documentary in 2008 that followed Alastair Campbell and his own mental health troubles showed another side to him, and he opened up a lot of conversations surrounding mental illness, and the need to do more to support those who suffer from it and help them to get the treatment that they need.
Journalism is also an area that he is often seen in, and joined GQ magazine as an interviewer in 2014, and in 2017 he joined the New European https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/contributor/alastair-campbell/ where he has been editor in chief for the last five years.
As well as written media, Campbell also teamed up with politician Rory Stewart in 2022, and the pair of them created the podcast entitled The Rest is Politics. This quickly became one of the most popular political podcasts, with many people tuning in and the podcast topping the downloaded podcast charts. It is popular not just within the politics section, but in the podcast charts overall.
