Do you wake up gracefully, happy that a new day is starting? Or are you a slow starter and feel miserable and sad? If so, don’t worry! You can have a better morning!
Get organised the night before
Make sure you have a realistic to-do list for tomorrow, with goals and objectives. It will take you a few minutes, but probably save you hours the next day. Also, prepare your clothes and set the table for a healthy breakfast – this will encourage you to sit down and spend a few minutes sipping your favorite brew.
Get up early
Mornings are the most productive time of the day, so try and make the most of them. Set up your alarm clock earlier, and use the extra time to exercise, meditate, read or listen to music. This will put you in control of your own time and make you feel better instantly.
Have a healthy breakfast
A good breakfast will improve your mood and concentration, and your overall performance throughout the day. Buy your favorite cereal brand, or learn how to rustle up a quick omelet, and your favorite meal of the day will be ready in no time.
Clean your workspace
Whether you are working from home or in an office, make sure your working space is clean and tidy. A Princeton University study showed that people who work in an organised and clean workspace are more productive than those who work in a messy one, as clutter draws your attention away from your work.
Set your priorities
Once you have set your goals for the day, work on your first priority. For example, you might have thought all night about that request from your colleague about converting a file from PDF to Excel so that he can work on his urgent task today.
If you are unsure how conversions from PDF to Excel work, a quick online research will save you time and worry (PDF tables are not that useful when having to compile price lists, Excel ones work much better!).
Once that task is out of the way, you can focus on the rest of your to do list.
So, even though you are not a morning person, making a good use of the morning hours will save your day!
