5 Helpful Outdoor Summer Party Prep Tips

0 0

Summertime is the perfect time to throw a party. The sun is shining, there’s tons of great fruits and vegetables in season, and everyone’s in the mood for a barbecue. That said, most people are probably going to a lot of barbecues. You may not be obsessed with throwing the best party of the summer, but you certainly don’t want yours to seem amateurish. As with everything, the better you prepare beforehand, the more enjoyable the party will be for you and your friends. It’s like they say, failing to prepare is preparing to fail – and no one likes to fail at a party. If you’ve got a party to plan, here are five helpful outdoor summer party prep tips.

  1. Provide shade. If you’ve got a great outdoor space for guests, you want to make the most of it. Some people will want to stay inside, some people will want to stay outside, but almost nobody wants to be out in the hot sun for more than a few minutes at a time. That’s why you need to make sure that there are a few shady places for people to hang out, eat snacks, and enjoy their drinks. If not, your backyard will just be a fun space that everyone looks at from inside.
  2. Include water. If it’s particularly hot where you live right now, then people are going to want a fun way to cool down. If you don’t have a pool, you’re going to want to find another way for people to get splashed. Whether it be an inflatable pool, slip and slide, water guns, or bobbing for apples, it’s always best when there’s a playful way to cool off.
  3. Secure your decorations. It may seem silly to some people, but it really doesn’t feel like a party if there aren’t any party decorations. The decorations tell people that they’re walking into a party space and not intruding in your home. So have fun with the process of dressing up your house. You can buy all kinds of party decorations from just artifacts, and make sure you know exactly how to secure them when you’re outside so that the wind doesn’t blow them away.
  4. Choose a theme. A theme always gives a party a sense of purpose, even if it’s evident that there is no real purpose. If you really want to impress your guests, make sure that you not only decorate with your theme in mind, but you also want the food you serve to fit in. These days there’s plenty of fun recipes you can look up if you want to create cute themed platters and dishes.
  5. Plan the music. When you’re at a party the music has a lot of influence on everyone’s mood. So you want to try and guide your partygoers with a winning playlist. If your party starts in the afternoon, start with something peppy and fun, let it get more upbeat and exciting as the night goes on, and then slow it down at the end so that everyone feels satisfied with leaving.
